Towards the Development of a Common Platform...

Many people in developing and impoverished countries are not aware of diseases. They are not concerned about diseases as well as the treatment also. If a person does not treat his/her disease in the early period of time, the disease may turn into a worse scenario. Hence, this is very important to make them conscious. For this reason, an android application is developed and this application can be used to make them aware since android mobile phone has become very popular, affordable, and available nowadays. In the newly developed android application, some of the most common diseases in the developing countries are selected. The developed android app was automated and a person could easily find out if he/she has any of these disease probability. From the results, it is found that cholera, diarrhea, chikungunya, tuberculosis (TB), dengue, and lastly COVID-19 are the most frequent diseases in poor countries and therefore it has been included in the developed android application. Furthermore, the developed android applications has the ability to find out the probability to get affected by a disease. Checking out the disease probability, people would increase the concern about that disease and consult with a doctor at the early stage of that disease.

PROMOTING A STRATEGIC PUSH TOWARDS UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE

Official Statement

We, the members of the UHC Forum, a coalition of professionals dedicated to advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), are deeply aggrieved by the recent horrific events in Bangladesh. Hundreds have been killed so far; among the victims are students from schools, colleges, and universities, as well as ordinary working citizens and bystanders. Even nine children between the ages of 4 and 16 were shot in their homes. Thousands more have been injured and subjected to brutal repression, oppression, and torture.

In response to the demand for quota reform, peaceful and unarmed student protesters have faced unprecedented violent repression by the police and various state forcesin recent days. We strongly condemn the unlawful and barbaric killings of innocent students, children, and ordinary citizens. We denounce the reckless and unconstitutional use of firearms against the citizens of this country. The unlawful arrests, which have surpassed 11,000 in the past 15 days, along with the thousands more implicated in ghost cases and subjected to block raids at odd hours of the night, are deeply troubling.

We demand the immediate release of all detained individuals. The injured students, especially those who have lost or are at risk of losing limbs or eyesight, or have sustained other injuries, must receive adequate medical care and compensation. The families of those killed must be comprehensively supported by the state. We call for a complete list of individuals who have been killed and an independent, transparent, and judicial investigation into all deaths. Those responsible for these atrocities must be brought to justice.

We stand in solidarity with the students and their demands.

আমরা, ইউনিভার্সাল হেলথ কভারেজ (ইউএইচসি) অগ্রগতিতে নিবেদিত পেশাদারদের একটি জোট হিসাবে, বাংলাদেশে সাম্প্রতিক ভয়াবহ ঘটনার জন্য গভীরভাবে শোকাহত। শত শত মানুষ ইতিমধ্যে নিহত হয়েছে, তাদের মধ্যে স্কুল, কলেজ এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা এবং সাধারণ কর্মজীবী নাগরিক ও পথচারী রয়েছেন। এমনকি ৪ থেকে ১৬ বছর বয়সী নয়জন শিশু তাদের বাড়িতে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়েছে। হাজার হাজার মানুষ আহত হয়েছে এবং নির্মম দমন, নির্যাতন এবং অত্যাচারের শিকার হয়েছে।

কোটা সংস্কারের দাবিতে শান্তিপূর্ণ এবং নরস্ত্র ছাত্র আন্দোলনকারীদের সম্প্রতিক দিনে পুলিশ এবং বিভিন্ন রাষ্ট্রশক্তর দ্বারা অভূতপূর্ব সহিংস দমনমূলে পড়তে হয়েছে। আমরা নির্দোষ শিক্ষার্থী, শিশু এবং সাধারণ নাগরিকদের অবৈধ এবং বর্বর হত্যাকাণ্ডের তীব্র নিন্দা জানাই। দেশের নাগরিকদের বিরুদ্ধে অপ্রয়োজনীয় এবং অসাংবিধানিকভাবে আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র ব্যবহারেরও নিন্দা জানাই। গত ১৫ দিনে ১১,০০০-এর বেশি অবৈধ গ্রেফতার এবং হাজার হাজার মানুষকে ভৌতিক মামলায় দাওয়া হয়েছে এবং মধ্যরাতে ব্লক রেইড করে গণগ্রেফতারে আমরা গভীর উদ্বিগ্ন।

আমরা সমস্ত আটককৃত ব্যক্তিদের অবিলম্বে হয়রানিমূলক মামলার উত্তোলন এবং মুক্তির দাবি জানাই। আহত শিক্ষার্থীদের, বিশেষ করে যারা গুরুতর আহত বা দৃষ্টিশক্তি হারিয়েছে হারানোর ঝুুঁকিতে রয়েছে বা অন্যান্য আঘাত পেয়েছে, তাদের পর্যপ্ত চিকিৎসা সেবা এবং ক্ষতিপূরণ প্রদান করা উচিত। নিহতদের পরিবারের সদস্যদের রাষ্টীয়ভাবে সহায়তা প্রদান করতে হবে। নিহত ব্যক্তিদের সম্পূর্ণ তালিকা এবং সমস্ত মৃত্যুর জন্য একটি, স্বচ্ছ এবং বিচারিক তদন্তের দাবি জানাই। যারা এই নৃশংসতার জন্য তাদের ন্যায়বিচারের আওতায় আনা উচিত।
